Inclement weather can cause transportation problems or locally hazardous conditions. Regionally, conditions can vary widely, with some localities experiencing much more weather-related disruption than others. Personal safety is an important consideration when evaluating the ability to commute to Teen Court during severe weather.
If personal safety is a deciding factor in not attending Teen Court there will be no penalty or punishment for absences or tardiness from the program.

In the case of inclement weather the Teen Court Coordinator in consultation with other Juvenile Diversion Staff will make a determination as to the operational status of Teen Court.

If Rapid City Area School District schools close due to inclement weather, all Teen Court Program activities will also be closed and canceled.

If County Government offices close due to inclement weather, all Teen Court Program activities will also be closed and canceled.

Any cancelations and/or closure decisions made by the Pennington County Teen Court will be posted online at, http://www.southdakotateencourt.org/Pennington.aspx in the “Announcements” module, and/or on the answering services obtained by calling 605-394-2531.
